Marshall Islands are a compilation of 29 atolls and five major islands that sit mid way in the pacific. Originally name after John Marshall in 1788 it is home to around 60,000 people. In the 40’s and 50’s the USA tested nuclear weapons on it including the most powerful one tested to date. This has somehow suppressed tourism as well as limited employment.
A lot of tourist likes to go diving among World War 2 wrecks and check out the beaches. The island is filled with beautiful palm trees and soft white sandy beaches.
Apart from having a good relaxing holiday here the biggest concern among locals is the rising water due to global warming, apart from that the Marshall islands is a great place. Majuro is the capital.
