Rapa Nui, meaning the 'Navel of the Earth' is the known name to the natives. Situated west of mainland Chile and regarded as a national park. Protection of the archaeological giant stone statues, which is what makes the island famous. It is rumoured from the natives that the gods moved these stones through the air, and today they sit scattered all over island. Rano Raraku volcano is apparently where the stone was quarried. It’s an intriguing reminder of the great work our ancient ancestors have left throughout the world. Researches and tourist alike are mesmerised of the spectacular sculptors that surround the island.
