Lebanon lying on the Mediterranean Sea and at the path between Asia and Europe was a strategic place for conquerors for centuries. Major outpost of Phoenician and Roman were built there, and later on the crusaders. It is a reminder of the country's long history and this history is best preserved in the ruins there. Coastal cities of Sida and Jbail are a great place to dive and check out the Phoenician ruins.
The country has natural beauty landscape, from the coastal plains to the Mount Lebanon ranges and the Békaa Valley. Due to the region being small it can be seen in very little time, and a couple of day trips should give you a massive insight to the country. Beirut is the capital so most things can be organised from there.
