Kazakhstan is one of the largest countries in the world, Rich in resources such as oil and natural gas. Kazakhstan has huge economic potential unfortunately dominated by widespread poverty. There are signs of economic growth with oil, so hopefully this carries on to other sectors.
Kazakhstan has fertile fruit-producing region in the southeast, Almaty, it is the former capital of Kazakhstan and is famous for its culture, architecture, grand ballet and opera houses. There are some amazing public sculptures and market stalls that come alive on the weekends.
Kazakhstan is very diverse in what you can do as a tourist this include skiing, visiting the Baikonur Cosmodrome and other spaceport launch sites left over from the launches from the soviet union. There is also some excellent bird watching in Korgalzhyn. If your more into nature go to country's nature reserves where bears and raptors can be seen.
