Ljubljana, the capital is an amazing little city surrounded with little bridges going over the pretty little river. Architecturally appealing and in the summer the little café and restaurants on the river look amazing. In Slovenian Alps the views are just as appealing and can be chased with a nice drop of wine in its many vineyards.
Being on the euro puts Slovenia at the forefront for being a popular tourist destination for western tourist. Post communism era the country has prospered and has some excellent walking destinations. If you want to walk and delve into more interesting areas, there are the Karstic cave system that is on the Natural World Heritage sites.
