The resorts are world class and have a brilliant 24-hour cassino, which has heaps of fantastic facilities including water sports.

Originally inhabited by the Arawak Indians till the Spanish explorer claimed the territory and set up the capital of the Antilles on island on its sister island Curacao. A Shortlist of Great Holiday Destinations and Tips on How to Reduce the Cost

There are numerous holiday destinations to where you can go even if you are on a tight budget. It is just a matter of searching for and choosing the right place as well as planning your activities. The Earth is amazingly big enough to give a virtually unlimited array of holiday destinations. With these many countries to discover, you will surely have many wonderful and unique travel experiences. And money should not be a big issue because you can travel affordably. There are many options and we will try to mention a few.

Europe

Let us begin our journey in France. This country has always been prevailing in the list of top holiday destinations since the day we became conscious about leisure travel. It has numerous provinces or states as well as great and historic cities. From the more distant islands of the Mediterranean to its Channel ports, you will never run out of great places to discover. And what is amazing about this country is that their transportation system is very efficient. You can travel by train to move from one place to another. In one way or the other, you will find it more affordable than travelling by plane and more comfortable than travelling by car.

In France, you can enjoy the beaches of Corsica and the Atlantic coast. In Giverny, you can take a tour of its war zones, take a cycling trip, or walk around and mingle with the locals. And don’t forget to visit Monet’s Garden. You can have great nights out in Paris or Normandy, ski in the French Alps, or watch the Monaco Grand Prix.

Italy is our next destination because this is the country where the great Renaissance began. Just by having the thought makes this country one the most exciting holiday destinations. Good weather, great beaches, great food, fine wine, nice people — what more can you expect? By the Orient Express, you can travel in the old fashioned way to even more old fashioned cities such as Venice, Florence, and Rome.

If you are inclined to things which are medieval, visit Umbria and immerse yourself in the area wherein medieval markets are still set. You may frolic through great vineyards and feast your eyes on the great works from the Renaissance. Most of all, Umbria is barely touched by tourists so expect to see how the place has been amazingly preserved.

If you love the sea, then you should go to Puglia and get astonished by its 500 miles of coastline. Discover more of Italy by visiting other places such as Sardinia, Sicily, Sorrento, and the Amalfi Coast.

The Americas

The United States of America may sound cliché for holiday destinations. But then again, this large country certainly has so much to offer. If you rent a car, then you can discover its vastness. Going on a road trip is one of the most pocket-friendly holiday activities. For a touch of glamour, you may visit Las Vegas and dance along the city lights. You may also go to the Wild West for some cowboy experience or bathe in the sun along the great beaches of Miami.

There are even more to discover when you go down the map in Mexico. It has recently become popular because of its ancient wonders such as the Aztec and Mayan structures. The country has several great beaches as well as small luxury haciendas. Whether you are up to a beach or a countryside experience, Mexico can surely accommodate you.

South America also has great places that will let you have a more exotic travel experience. You may visit Brazil and its neighboring countries to discover the wilderness around the Amazon. Nothing gets you closer to nature than this vast rainforest where you can meet thousands of animal and plant species.

Asia

In this great continent, there are great holiday destinations waiting for you in the south east and one of them is Thailand. The Land of Smiles continues to rise among the greatest and most affordable holiday destinations. Good food, sunny beaches, beautiful countryside, low prices and friendly people — there is still more to get. The country has a rich cultural heritage, having been influenced by Buddhism.

If you are in Thailand, be sure to visit the islands such as Phuket, Koh Samui, and Koh Pangan. Of course, never forget to visit the famous gulf of Siam and to relieve you from a stressful travel, visit Chiva-Som for a great spa experience.

Another country that has made it to our list of great holiday destinations is India. It is hard to ignore this country because it offers natural beauty, awesome diversity and cultural wealth. You may embark on the Maharaja’s Express and enjoy numerous national parks or find other unique ways to travel. You may also go on a wildlife holiday and see great animals such as tigers and elephants or walk around the streets of Kerala, one of the country’s most enticing states.

Now that we have looked into a few — because there are still too many — holiday destinations, we will look at the things that you can do to save on your holiday.

The first in our list is by a road trip. Obviously, a road trip is less expensive than air travel and aside from it you get a scenic view of the place where you are driving to. Just keep in mind to plan ahead about your destination and the roads which you would take.

Camping is another good way to reduce the cost of your holiday vacation. Investing on camping gears may cost a little at the beginning, but because you will enjoy camping, there is a great chance that you will do it again and when you do, you still have your camping gears with you. This way, you can save the expenses that you would have to use for lodging.

Another cost efficient activity when you visit your favorite holiday destination is museum hopping. Most of the places that we mentioned above have a great and rich history. Immerse yourself in their heritage by visiting their great museums. Learning about a new place is easier through peering over and listening to the stories about these memorabilia.

Now that the options are opened before your eyes, there is no reason for you to postpone your next trip. Prepare your luggage now and visit your preferred holiday destinations.
